Mother's Day 2009

I had a wonderful Mother's Day! My boys made me feel very loved and special. Every Mother's Day the men of our church cook breakfast for all the ladies so that was a nice treat to sit with other ladies and be waited on by the men. David also grilled kabobs for us for lunch so he had his fair share of kitchen duty on Sunday.

I wanted to do something special to remember and think about my mom so I baked some apple muffins that she used to make. They were my absolute favorite and I've had the hand written recipe card that she gave me for years, but have never made them. They turned out just as I had remembered and were a sweet reminder of my mom. David kept calling them "Barbara's Apple Muffins" which was special to me.
