Playing Catch Up

Wow. It's been a long time. A very long time! And I'm not sure where and how to start. I guess I'll try to do a short recap of the highlights of our past few months...here we go...

Halloween:
Ryan told me during the summer that he wanted to be a mechanic for Halloween. It was out of the blue and every now and then he would think about something different, but he always went back to the mechanic. So I knew I had to deliver. And I think I did a pretty good job! We had a lot of fun!
Ruth Family Visit:
My college roommate, Lori, and her family of 5 came to visit over the Halloween weekend. They are missionaries overseas so it had been years. It was a CRAZY weekend filled with lots of kid's activities, but we did get in some girl time.
Peter Pan show in Branson:
My Dad & Pat took the older grandkids to see Peter Pan. I got to tag along. The show was amazing and all of the kids greatly enjoyed it.
Hickman Family Visit:
Our wonderful friends, David & Ann, visited for a long weekend right before Thanksgiving. It was just like old times being with them and Robyn. A highlight was celebrating Ann's birthday at James at the Mill. We laughed a lot and made some good memories...some of which I am trying to forget! :)
Thanksgiving:
We spent Thanksgiving in Longview with David's family. It was a relaxed visit and we enjoyed going to the Caldwell Zoo in Tyler one day.
KidsTIME Performance:
Ryan's childcare program performed at the end of the fall session. It was the cutest thing and we were so proud to see Ryan participate in the songs and do the actions (compared to crying as he had in the past).
Steinmuller Family Christmas:
We always celebrate Christmas with my side of the family the weekend before the actual holiday. As always it was filled with lots of kids, food, and fun. I love seeing the pictures of all the cousins each year!
Ryan's New Bed:
Right before Christmas Ryan moved up (ha!) to a bigger boy bed! We wanted to get him a loft style bed so he could have more space in his bedroom. I searched for a very long time and finally came across someone to custom build it for us. He loves it, we love it. It is perfect.Christmas at Home:
We had a wonderful Christmas at home. It was low key and nice. And David got the best gift a Texas boy could get...SNOW! We had fun playing outside and enjoying it for the day.
Leiffer Family Christmas:
We celebrated with the Leiffers the weekend after Christmas. It was a double bonus for David because we also celebrated his birthday. Ryan enjoyed several new things, but especially loves the pretend play clothes that his Mimi made for him. How cute is our little doctor?!
Sledding:
We got another snow right after the new year and this time around it was enough to go sledding! Ryan loved it almost as much as David did!
So that's it in a nutshell! I like to go into detail with each event for memory sake, but this will have to do. We are off to Disney World on Sunday so I'm sure I'll have a long detailed post after we get back!
