Girls AR Visit

Four years ago our two oldest nieces, Emily and Baily, came to stay with us for 5 days when we lived in Texas. They were only six years old at the time. I can't get over how young they were: Fast forward to Labor Day weekend 2009 and we finally get to have them visit together again!
Look at these two cute KIDS (2005):Now check out the "PRE-TEENS" at 10 years old (and we added one to the mix):I drove up to MO to pick them up on Friday and that night we ate a quick dinner at home and then headed to Fast Lanes to go bowling, ride go-carts, and play some games.
Emily definitely has Pettit racing blood in her body...she beat all of us on a Nascar racing game. Watch out boys!We all stayed up late Friday night...actually the girls out lasted us old folks! Saturday mid-morning we went "creeking". "Creeking" is a word Ryan came up with this summer. Basically it covers everything you can do in a trip to the creek. Rather than say fishing, you can use "creeking" and have all your bases covered...quite creative if you ask me! So on this particular trip we fished, waded, skipped rocks, caught minnows, etc.
The girls were quite fun to watch with the fish David caught. They wanted to get right in there with him, but being that they are girly-girls it made me laugh. I caught some good videos of the action.

Sunday we headed to church and then I wanted to do something girly with them so we went shopping and got pedicures. Their rule was was we all had to pick out BRIGHT colors. I choose a hot pink and they were nice enough to let me just stick with one color. I guess it isn't too bad because two weeks later my toes are still pink!
They wanted to go back to the creek that afternoon so we spent more time "creeking". We went to a different spot and took an inflatable boat so they could float little rapids. We also found a good swimming hole so they spent most of their time swimming, laughing, and singing.
We all had a great time and it was so fun to experience life along with 10 year old girls! They have already decided that want to come back next summer and stay for a week and a half! I told them we would love to have them, but they better save their money since I saw how they can work over Uncle David for anything they want! He loved it!
