Dad's 60th Birthday Celebration

Last weekend we celebrated my dad's 60th birthday (which is July 9th) by surprising him with a weekend stay with the family at a cabin in AR. The entire thing was perfect. If you know my dad he can't keep a secret or surprise for anything. So we had a lot of fun with it and I know he greatly enjoyed himself the entire weekend. We all arrived about the same time Friday afternoon and then took him out to eat at a Amish restaurant that evening called the Wooden Spoon. It was so yummy!Saturday we stayed on the property and fished, hiked, played, explored, napped, and ate all day. It was so nice to just hang out with my family and not be rushed like we are during the holidays. And the kids did wonderful! They played so well together, non-stop, and had a blast. Even when it was raining Sunday morning they ran and rode laps around the wrap-around porch! It was perfect!

Saturday evening we celebrated my dad's birthday with a motorcycle cake. The grandkids enjoyed his new tradition of sticking their fingers in the icing after helping him blow out the candles. It was sweet to watch. We were sad to leave. The entire weekend was so wonderful. I'm so glad we got to celebrate such an amazing man in our lives. We love you Papa! We look forward to celebrating many more years!
