Yup, that is the bed of our Chevrolet Silverado sitting in our front lawn. Yes, just the bed.Ryan put it to good use:
It's a long story, but our check engine light has been on for a while and David was determined to do the repair himself. He is quite the handy man and I'm all about him doing repairs himself and saving us money, but big jobs like this make me nervous! He rounded up his buddy, Jaime (probably the only friend he could convience to help him lift the 500+ pound truck bed), and they went to work:
The diagnostic test said the light was on because of leaking gas vapors. We immediately replaced the gas cap, but that didn't seem to do the trick. So they were trying to find the leak by using soapy water and nitrogen gas. Not too long into the repair they discovered that the new gas cap the young man sold us from the auto parts store was NOT the correct one for the truck...they took the entire bed off of the truck to find this out! We are still waiting to see if the light will go off, but my overly sensitive nose has not smelled gasoline vapors since Saturday.I'm sure the neighbors were rolling their eyes at us yet once again!
