VACATION in St. Lucia!

And now for the second part of our trip....!! On Sunday evening we met up with our friends, David & Ann Hickman, and had a WONDERFUL time vacationing with them. We stayed in a two bedroom suite at Discovery at Marigot Bay. It's a newer resort and was perfect for us and the activities we wanted to do. I wish I could post tons of pictures to show all the fun, but this will have to do. I'll let the pictures tell the story...

Second story suite & the view from breakfast:
On Monday we spent the morning checking out the marina village & relaxing by the pool. We headed back to the village for lunch at a baguette shop:
Afterwards we took a water taxi to the small beach on the other side of the bay. David took me around the bay on a hobie cat...he's quite the captain!!:

Dinner Monday night at Doolittle's (Marigot Bay is where they flimed the orginial Dr. Doolittle movie):
Tuesday we had scheduled a tour of the island with our driver, Fabian.
View of Marigot Bay:
Second stop was at a banana plantation:
We also saw several of the small fishing vilages like Anse La Raye & Canaries. Fabian stopped along the way to let us try local snacks like cassava bread, coconut cookies, & banana ketsup.
In Soufriere we saw the famous Pitons, the Toraille Waterfall & Botantial Gardens, & Sulpher Springs, the world's only drive-in volcano (not bad if you enjoy the rotten egg smell!):

We headed to the Ladera resort for lunch & an amazing view of the Pitons & then we finished the tour by snorkeling at Jalouise (yup, that's me on the left in the yellow mask!):

Wednesday we hung by the pool for most of the day. The guys invented their own version of pool frisbee golf...good thing it wasn't crowded!!:

The highlight of the trip for all of us was the sunset sailboat cruise we took that evening! It was a private trip and we were treated like royalty! After sailing towards the south end of the island & watching the sunset we anchored in the bay where the owner & head chef of Chateau Mygo came out to the boat on a dinghy (love that word...just had to use it) & cooked us this amazing meal (stuff crab & buffalo wings to start, followed by steak with 3 local sides, & banana flambe for dessert...YUMMY!).

Thursday morning it was raining so we hung out in the suite & marina village. By the afternoon it was just sprinkling so we took a water taxi to snorkel at Anse Cochon. This was so much fun because we got off the boat a ways out from shore to view a sunken ship & then the driver towed us to the reserve by a rope!! No work involved...just hanging on!:

All in all it was GREAT trip! In fact, too much good times:

We love you David & Ann! Thanks for sharing your vacation time with us...we will never forget all of the wonderful memories we created!
